PSAT
Test Date: Tuesday, October 21st, 2025
Grades Tested: Sophomores and Juniors
The Test:
The PSAT will be given on Oct. 21st, 2025 to most 10th and 11th graders who are enrolled in English II or English III at Guyer High School.
Home School Students
Home school students interested in taking PSAT/NMSQT at their zoned Denton ISD high school campus must complete this registration form by September 1st.
You can bring $18 Cash to the front office in an envelope with your childs name and PSAT on the front.
The test will be given during the school day. Please arrive by 8:40 to find your testing room. The test will start promptly at 8:50, if you are not on time, you will not be able to test.
This test is one of the most important tests that a student will take in preparation for college. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT exam in their junior year are automatically entered into the National Merit Scholarship competition. This exam is the only way to become a National Merit Scholar and/or to be recognized as a high-achieving Hispanic or African American scholar.
From the PSAT, students will be given a comparable SAT score that will allow them to see where they are compared to all other students across the nation that they are competing with for college entrance, scholarships, and financial aid.
All 10th and 11th graders will have access to My College QuickStart, a free, personalized college plan that a student can use to improve their academic skills, to improve their SAT or ACT college entrance exam scores, and to research colleges. My College QuickStart also allows students to research careers and help them determine a career path. Additionally, student results will be sent to colleges so they can be contacted for scholarships.
Students who set up an account online with College Board also have access to free SAT tutorials.
*Results: Students with a College Board account will be able to access their scores online usually by mid-December.
*Students are encouraged to bring their own basic graphing or scientific calculator on test day. (We will not have enough for everyone)
*Please send your student with a sack lunch, snacks, and water for testing day.
SAT School Day - Juniors
SAT School Day March 3rd, 2026
Denton ISD administers the "SAT School Day" test to all 11th grade students in March every year. This opportunity is free to all eligible 11th grade students and all eligible students are automatically registered for the test. Student scores will be loaded into their College Board account following the test. This year the test will be held on March 3rd.
The purpose of offering the Digital SAT School Day is to provide students the opportunity to take the SAT on a weekday instead of a Saturday. Students can utilize the SAT School Day as an initial test or improve their scores from previous testing sessions for admissions, college readiness, and scholarship purposes.

TSI Testing
District - Texas Success Initiative Assessment
If you are requesting TSI scores from Guyer High School:
1. Visit the Accuplacer Student Portal to retrieve your TSIA2 scores and send your scores to another institution.
I wanted to remind you that while we assist with the TSIA2 process here at Guyer, each college or university has its own policies and procedures for utilizing TSIA2 scores. Because these requirements vary widely by institution, it is essential that you visit your intended college or university's TSIA2 website to determine their specific process.
Some colleges may require a Cross Institution Score Release Form to access your TSIA2 scores. If you are unsure whether your institution requires this or if you need clarification about their policies, I encourage you to contact their testing department directly for assistance.
2. If you are unable to view your scores above, or your College of choice doesn’t utilize the Cross Institution Score Release form, please fill out the form below and the District will provide you your scores upon request.
Denton ISD TSIA2 Score Release

TSI (Texas Success Initiative Assessment)
What is it? The TSIA2 measures college-level readiness in ELAR and Math. It is a placement test that determines whether a student is ready for college-level courses or if developmental instruction is needed to strengthen academic skills to ensure success in college-level courses. Not all Texas college students have to take the TSIA2 test. If a student has met college readiness standards on the SAT/ACT or successfully completed a dual credit course, the student may be exempt.

Where do I get an admission ticket?
Students do not need admission tickets to enter the AP Exam testing facilities. However, each student does need a CURRENT picture id, such as a school ID or a driver’s license. Without picture ID students will not be allowed to enter the room.
What may I bring with me to the exam room?
Students MUST bring a current picture ID, at least two #2 pencils, pens in blue or black ink, and a calculator if applicable. No cell phones or electronic communication devices are allowed. No iPods or MP3 players are allowed. No highlighters are allowed. Students may NOT bring backpacks, purses, or bags to the testing room. Water is the only liquid which may be brought inside the exam room. Snack items brought to the testing room must be stored in clear plastic bags.
When do I need to report to the testing room?
For morning exams, students need to report to the back gyms at 7:30 am. For afternoon exams students need to report to the back gyms at 11:30 am. We encourage students to be on time for check-in since there is identification information that must be completed before testing can begin which adds additional time to the testing time. For security reasons, students will not be admitted to the room once the exam materials have been opened. Late arrivals who are not admitted to the room are considered ‘no shows’ and are not eligible for late testing or a refund.
Do I need to excuse my absence from school during the exam?
You will automatically be excused for the class periods that are affected by the testing. You are not excused for the entire day. You are responsible for all school work missed during your absence for AP Exams.
What if I have more than one exam scheduled for the same day and same time? What if I have two exams scheduled on the same day?
College Board makes provisions for students who would like to register to take two exams that are scheduled at the EXACT same time and date. Please email mwells@dentonisd.org immediately to get information on late testing locations and information. Unfortunately, you would not be eligible for late testing if you are taking two exams back to back (i.e. one in the morning and one in the afternoon).
What if I finish the exam early? Can I leave early?
Per College Board’s security regulations for exams, students may not leave the test until the time is called and all examinees are excused together. If a student leaves without permission, their exam will be collected and submitted separately to College Board. Their score will be canceled and no refund will be possible. Exams are approximately 4 hours. Please be prepared for the duration of the exam.
What if I get sick and can’t make the exam?
Unfortunately, there are no makeups. In case of such an emergency, please email mwells@dentonisd.org
